And Adam knew his wife again; and she bare a son, and called his name Seth: For God, said she, hath appointed me another seed instead of Abel, whom Cain slew
Genesis 4:25
Today’s text paints a picture of a marital home struck by a terrible calamity. What starts as a disagreement between two brothers turns disastrous; one dies while the other becomes a vagabond. Suddenly, Adam and Eve are deprived of their two sons. It looked like that divine and blessed union had fallen apart and shattered completely, but God was not yet through with them. He was still working out His good plans for them.
What is the pain that has drained the hope and joy from your family? What is the loss you have experienced in your business or company? Maybe you have failed in your academics, a trusted friend has betrayed you, or you have been grieved by the death of a precious family member. Whatever hurt you have been through, it is not the end of life. God is able to restore your life, resurrect your hope, and revive your business and family again. That you survived is an indication of God’s faithfulness.
“And Adam knew his wife again” means you can dream again, write that proposal again, raise that capital again, that marriage can work again, go back to school again. God is on your side to bless and prosper you in all aspects. Do not let the fear of past mistakes, failures and defeat stop you from enjoying the new thing God is about to do for you.
Faith does not require unnecessary explanations. So, rest your unanswered question with God and trust Him to bless you beyond it. Know that the end of one chapter marks the beginning of a fresh one, and then put your focus on the new chapter, not on the closed chapter.
I prophesy over your life that as you step out in faith again, favourable opportunities will open up for you, better connection will enter your life, you will meet the right business partners, enjoy the right marital relationship, and experience growth and better results in your academics, ministry, career. Receive it now in the name of Jesus.
Prayer: Lord, I receive Your healing grace and strength to rise up and dream again in spite of past pain. I will press on and prevail by faith. Amen.
